Who is responsible

What we collect and why

• Your page views and selected signup, pet setup and calendar steps, sent to OpenPanel for product analytics. Page paths use templates and allowlisted campaign tags may be included. Signed-in events may be linked to your account ID; we do not send your name, email address or pet photos to OpenPanel. We do not use OpenPanel for click tracking or session replay.
• Your email address, to sign you in with a code and to send your pet's photos and order updates.
• Your pet's name, type, birthday and photos, to make images that look like your pet.
• The images we make, so you can see and download them in your account.
• When you last visited and which photo emails you opened, so we can pause the emails when you're not reading them.
• For orders: your name, shipping address, country, language, what you bought and what you paid.
• A photo you upload to try a free painting without an account, with a code made from your IP address that changes every day, to limit free paintings. We use the photo only to check that it shows a pet and to paint your picture.

We use this to provide the service you signed up for and the order you placed (contract), to keep the service safe and working, such as rate limits on sign-in codes (legitimate interest), and to keep order records for tax (legal obligation).

We don't send marketing emails without asking you, and we don't sell or share your data for advertising. Your photos and images are never shown publicly.

Who helps us

These companies process data for us under data processing agreements:

• Cloudflare: Hosting, database, file storage and sending our emails, and bot checks (Turnstile) on free paintings.
• Google (Gemini API): Making your pet's images from your reference photos. Google doesn't use this data to train its models.
• Stripe: Payments, VAT and fraud checks. We never see your card details.
• Gelato: Printing and shipping your calendar: the print file, your name and your address.

Some of them are based in the US or may process data there. Those transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

• Your account, pet, photos and images: until you delete your account. Deleting it removes them for good.
• A one-way code made from your email address, with how many free previews, portraits and AI calls it has used. It stays after you delete your account, so signing up again doesn't restart the free allowance, and it can't be turned back into your email.
• Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. You stay signed in for up to 30 days.
• Orders, including name, address and email: 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires it. This stays after you delete your account.
• Photos and paintings from a free painting without an account: one day, then deleted.

Cookies

We use one cookie, dpp_session, which keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary. We also use OpenPanel analytics for page views and selected signup, pet setup, calendar preview, checkout and payment milestones. Page paths use templates and allowlisted campaign tags may be included. Signed-in activity and milestones may be linked to your account ID. We do not send your name, email address or pet photos to OpenPanel, and we do not use it for click tracking or session replay.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Most of it you can change or delete yourself in your settings. For anything else, email support@dailypetphotos.com and we'll answer within a month. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the one in your country.

Children

Daily Pet Photos is for people aged 16 and over.

Changes

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. We email you about changes that matter.
